This first mosque was made in 1888, but it was still in wood. Muslims religion is divided in lot of branches such as: Sunnis and Shiite,…. This first mosque is for the Sunnis surtis muslims in the beginning. In the middle of 19th centuary, the Shiite, the more precisely is a Bohras, according to their tradition, they dwelt in Tamatave but they couldn’t to renew their mosque because they weren’t many. At least in 1954, they have this very nice mosque with very nice view.

when in tamatave you can’t help but hearing the muezzin call each evening and know it’s prayer time for muslims in town. and yes i’t a very nice mosquee . all this also show malagasy people tolerance towards any religion and the respect with have for one another.
