Following along Ratsimilaho boulevard, you can enjoy a very nice view on the port. It was already existed before the colonization, it is made by Franco-Germany consortium in 1926 but it was also among of the cyclone 1927 victimes and three years later tehy continued again the construction and then it was inaugurated in 1936. It gives a very strong strength of Tamatave town and Madagascar entire economics as well. Nowadays it can receive a lot of ships at the same time and thousand Contereners because it allowed us to import 75% of our needed and 25% of export. That is the main reason why our President Marc Ravalomanana called Tamatave as a capital economic of Madagascar.
